Hickory golf on Lake Constance – golf just like in the 1920s

Welcome to the Bodensee Hickory Society – your club for hickory golf on Lake Constance. We are a club founded in Switzerland in March 2025 for passionate hickory golfers from the international Lake Constance region. Our headquarters is the Golf-Club Konstanz e.V. – this is where hickory golf is truly lived and breathed.

 

What is hickory golf?

In hickory golf, we play just as they did in the 1920s and 1930s – exclusively with original clubs manufactured before 1935 and featuring a hickory shaft. Modern aids such as rangefinders, buggies and electric trolleys are strictly forbidden at our tournaments. Gentlemen compete in knickerbockers (Plus2 or Plus4), a shirt, tie or bow tie; ladies in skirts that cover the knees. This is how we experience golf in an authentic, sporting and sociable way. 

Our members not only uphold the traditions of the game of golf, but also foster a sense of camaraderie and shared enjoyment on the course. In this way, the Bodensee Hickory Society uniquely combines nostalgia with sporting challenge.

 

Hickory Golf Bodensee – Tournaments, Workshops & Join In

Whether you’re a Hickory Golf Bodensee beginner or a competitive player: you’ve come to the right place. Our members regularly take part in national and international hickory tournaments and organise their own events, such as the Bodensee Hickory Open at the Konstanz Golf Club and the Schloss Langenstein Golf and Country Club.

Don’t have your own hickory clubs? No problem. For our Hickory workshops in Konstanz with Florian Rump, you can hire a set from the Bodensee Hickory Society and simply give Hickory golf a go.
